GV Christian Center financially supports local and international missions to help meet the needs of people right where they are.
We support dozens of missionaries around the world and partner with a wide variety of other ministries, relief efforts and projects. These endeavors range from combating human trafficking in our own nation, providing disaster relief and community services to providing supplies to at-risk school children.
Our international missionaries serve in the following areas:
- Southeast Asia
- The Philippines
- The Democratic Republic of Congo
- Northern Asia
- The Dominican Republic
- Central Eurasia
- The Asia Pacific
Directed by a combined team made up of Church Members, Staff and Pastors at GV Christian Center, the purpose of Global Encounter is to inspire a passion for missions and outreach in our people in order to increase our effectiveness as a church following the Great Commission that Christ Himself laid out for all of us in the Word.
This Missional purpose is drawn directly from Mark 16:15 where Jesus said to his followers, “Go everywhere in the world, and tell the Good News to everyone (NCV).” The passage goes on to tell us what happened next in verse 20: “And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked with them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs (NLT).” We believe that we are all called to do just that; to go everywhere and tell everyone.
We believe we are all given different gifts and talents by God to effectively accomplish this calling together. Some of us are called to speak, some to serve, some to pray, some to work behind the scenes and some to use the blessings God has given them to send the others to go. We are all meant to work as a unit, a body, to go everywhere, tell everyone and when we do the Lord will help us to accomplish what he’s called us to do.
For years, our church has sent short-term missions teams to aid the efforts of our foreign and domestic missionaries. Past teams from our church have ministered from Indian Reservations in Arizona to frozen prisons in Siberia; from orphanages in Mexico to remote villages deep in the Amazon. We also send short-term teams to aid the missionaries serving permanently at their posts worldwide.
